GODIVA Shanghai HQ
With Godiva outgrowing their current office, the client wanted to use this opportunity to both expand and update their branding to appeal to a younger, more dynamic crowd. The interior designer found inspiration in the long history of Godiva Chocolates and Lady Godiva. The interior design uses warm tones and materials throughout the space and lighting emphasises these with 3000˚K lighting. The Lady Godiva feature is an intricate logo in acrylic with narrow lines and curves. To backlight, an engineered solution that required a ¾ deep laser cut was used. This allowed the introduction of a flexible LED strip that could wrap around the tight corners. Two small pitch diffused LED strips were slotted into the cut to light both sides of the narrow line. Through this lighting design, the logo feature creates stunning reflections that are visible from every angle. Philip Rafael was the lead designer and managed this project as part of his work as Associate Director at Studio Illumine.
